The 0.56-inch Red 1-Digit 7-Segment Common Cathode LED Display is a standard electronic component used to display numbers from 0 to 9 and a few basic letters. In a common cathode (CC) configuration, all the negative terminals (cathodes) of the individual segment LEDs are tied together to a shared ground pin. To illuminate a specific segment, you must apply a high voltage (logic 1) to its corresponding positive terminal (anode).

These parameters represent the industry-standard ratings for red 0.56" displays (such as the popular 5161AS or 5611AH models): 
  • Character Height: 0.56 inches (14.2 mm)
  • Emitting Color: Red
  • Forward Voltage (\(V_{F}\)): 1.8V to 2.2V per segment
  • Forward Current (\(I_{F}\)): 10mA to 20mA per segment (requires current-limiting resistors)
  • Package Type: 10-pin Dual In-line Package (DIP) for breadboard or through-hole PCB mounting
