When software-based monitoring isn't fast enough to prevent hardware damage, the 5A Overcurrent Protection Relay Module provides an immediate, hardware-level failsafe. This board continuously monitors current draw and instantly triggers an onboard relay when the load exceeds your custom-set threshold, physically cutting power or sending a fault signal before your components can fail.
Equipped with an onboard potentiometer, you can easily dial in the exact current limit up to 5A. The module typically outputs a digital signal and flips the relay's Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) contacts, making it incredibly versatile. You can use it to directly interrupt the power line of a faulting device, or wire the relay to a GPIO pin on an Arduino, ESP32 or STM32 to trigger an interrupt and log the fault in your system.
Perfect For:
-
IoT Energy Metering: Integrate active fault protection into your custom AC and DC energy meters to safeguard both the meter and the connected appliances.
-
Motor & Pump Protection: Automatically cut power to mechanical loads (like those used in fluid or LPG monitoring systems) if a stall or jam causes a dangerous current spike.
-
Failsafe Automation: Create standalone safety cutoffs for custom hardware, power harvesting setups, or prototyping testbenches.
Technical Specifications:
-
Detection Range: 0 to 5A (AC or DC, depending on the specific sensor IC onboard)
-
