The AM2315C Encased I2C Temperature/Humidity Sensor is a ruggedized environmental sensor featuring an internal AHT20 sensing element housed within a durable, protective casing. It is a modernized successor to the legacy AM2315 sensor, offering reliable digital monitoring via a standard I2C data bus.
Key Specifications & Performance
  • Operating Voltage: Supports 2.5V to 5.5V DC, making it directly compatible with both 3.3V and 5V logic systems (such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and ESP32 microcontrollers).
  • I2C Bus Address: Operates on a fixed 7-bit 12C address of 0x38. (Note: It has built-in 4.7K pull-up resistors on the data lines).
  • Measurement Range: Tracks ambient temperatures from -40°C to +80°C and relative humidity levels from 0% to 100% RH.
  • Typical Accuracy: Delivers precise measurements within ±0.3°C for temperature and ±2% for relative humidity under standard conditions.
  • Casing & Build: Features an ABS + PC plastic dust-proof body measuring 98mm in length and 16mm in diameter. It includes a 508mm (20-inch) cable and a mounting bracket.
Wiring Configuration
The sensor outputs a 4-wire color-coded cable bundle for simple integration:
  • 🔴 Red: Power Supply (VCC)
  • ⚫ Black: Ground (GND)
  • 🟡 Yellow: Serial Data (SDA)
  • ⚪ White: Serial Clock (SCL)

Please note: While the housing is weather-resistant against environmental elements like wind and light moisture, it is not rated as fully waterproof and should never be submerged in liquids.
