The DHT22 (also known as AM2302) is a popular, low-cost digital temperature and humidity sensor widely used in electronics and IoT projects. It uses a capacitive humidity sensing element and a negative temperature coefficient (NTC) thermistor to capture environmental data. A built-in 8-bit microcontroller processes these readings and transmits them as a calibrated digital signal over a single-wire bus.
