The KY-017 Mercury Tilt Switch Module is a digital sensor that detects orientation and tilt using a liquid mercury droplet inside a sealed glass tube.

  • Output: Digital (HIGH/LOW)
  • Pin (-): Ground (GND)
  • Pin (Middle): Power (VCC)
  • Pin (S): Digital Signal Out 
How It Works
  • Horizontal: Mercury touches both internal pins. The circuit closes, sending a LOW signal.
  • Tilted: Mercury rolls away from the pins. The circuit opens, sending a HIGH signal.
