The LJ12A3-4-Z/BY is a cylindrical, 3-wire PNP Normally Open (NO) inductive proximity sensor. It is primarily used to detect the presence of metallic objects (especially ferrous metals like iron) without physical contact within a range of 4mm.

The sensor uses a standard industrial color code for its integrated cable:
  • Brown (VCC): Connects to the positive supply voltage (+6V to +36V DC).
  • Blue (GND): Connects to the negative supply voltage / Ground (0V).
  • Black (Signal Output): Sinks or sources current based on sensor type. Because this is a PNP model, when a metal target is detected, the black wire outputs a high voltage equivalent to the applied supply voltage
