The LJC18A3-H-Z/BY is a cylindrical, 18mm-diameter capacitive proximity sensor switch. Unlike inductive sensors that only pick up metal, this capacitive switch can detect both metallic and non-metallic objects (such as plastic, glass, wood, water, and oil) without any physical contact. Its integrated PNP Normally Open (NO) transistor output structure outputs a high-voltage (positive) signal when a target is detected.

3-Wire Color Coding & Standard Wiring
This sensor features a built-in cable containing three distinct wires. Because it operates on a PNP mechanism, it acts as a "sourcing" sensor, completing the positive path to your load when triggered: 
  • Brown Wire: Connects to the positive supply voltage (V+ / typically +12VDC or +24VDC).
  • Blue Wire: Connects to the negative supply voltage or common system Ground (0V / GND).
  • Black Wire: The signal output wire. When an object is within the detection zone, this wire switches on to pass the positive input voltage down to your load or controller.
