The DC 3V–5V Unassembled Metal Detector Kit is an entry-level DIY soldering project that detects metal objects at a short range. It uses an integrated printed circuit board (PCB) loop antenna rather than a wire coil and operates via a buzzer or LED indicator when metal is sensed.

  • Potentiometer (for sensitivity tuning)
  • Battery connecting wires 
Assembly & Tuning Process
  1. Soldering: Insert and solder all electronic components onto the PCB, matching the component values to the printed labels.
  2. Powering: Connect the board to a 3V-5V power source (such as two AA batteries).
  3. Calibration: Turn on the power and adjust the onboard potentiometer until the buzzer stops making noise. Turn it slowly in the opposite direction until the sound just starts, then back it off until it is quiet.
  4. Testing: Pass the sensor board over metallic items like coins, phones, or keys. The buzzer should sound when metal is present.
