A reed switch sensor module is an electrical switch operated by an applied magnetic field. It acts as a simple digital trigger that opens or closes a circuit when a magnet comes near. 
How It Works
  • No Magnet: The internal metal contacts (reeds) stay apart. The circuit remains open.
  • Magnet Present: The magnetic field pulls the contacts together. The circuit closes.
  • Module Board: Most modules include a comparator chip (like the LM393). This stabilizes the signal and provides both digital (DO) and analog (AO) outputs. 
Typical Pinout
  • VCC: Power input (usually 3.3V to 5V).
  • GND: Ground connection.
  • DO: Digital output (High or Low signal).
