By combining a Quad-band GSM/GPRS cellular modem with a highly sensitive GPS navigation receiver in a single footprint, this board eliminates the need to wire multiple discrete modules together.

Using standard AT commands via a UART serial interface, you can easily command your microcontroller to send SMS messages, make voice calls, upload sensor data over a GPRS internet connection, and pull real-time latitude and longitude coordinates. This makes it an incredibly powerful tool for any project that leaves the boundaries of your local Wi-Fi network.
