The SW520D Tilt Sensor Module is a digital roller-ball switch used to detect physical orientation or movement. It acts as a binary switch (ON/OFF) that triggers when tilted past a specific threshold (typically greater than ±15 degrees). It is ideal for microcontrollers like Arduino, ESP32, and Raspberry Pi.

Pin Configuration
  1. VCC: Connects to 3.3V - 5V power
  2. GND: Connects to ground
  3. DO (Digital Output): Outputs LOW when upright (circuit closed) and HIGH when tilted (circuit open)
  4. AO (Analog Output): Optional pin that provides real-time voltage variation 
Working Principle
  • Upright: Metal balls roll down to touch the internal terminals, bridging them to close the circuit.
  • Tilted: Gravity pulls the balls away from the pins, breaking contact and opening the circuit.
  • Calibration: An onboard potentiometer allows you to adjust sensitivity and filter out noise.
