The TOF10120 and TOF05140 are highly compact Time-of-Flight (ToF) laser ranging sensor modules capable of measuring absolute distances from 10cm to 180cm (100mm to 1800mm). Unlike ultrasonic or infrared sensors, these use a 940nm invisible laser pulse to measure the exact round-trip time of flight. This makes their distance readings highly accurate and completely independent of the target object's color, surface reflection, or texture.
Both modules feature an integrated microcontroller that handles the complex ranging calculations internally, allowing them to output clean distance values directly in millimeters over UART (TTL Serial) or I2C (IIC) interfaces.
