The TTP229 16-way Capacitive Touch Switch is a digital module that replaces mechanical 4x4 keypads with 16 touch-sensitive pads.

Key Features
  • 8-Key Mode (Default): Uses 8 direct parallel pins; keys 9–16 are inactive.
  • 16-Key Serial Mode: Uses a 2-wire serial protocol (SCL/SDO) to read all 16 keys while saving microcontroller pins. It requires setting an onboard jumper.
  • Overlays: Works through thin glass, plastic, or acrylic for waterproof panels. 
Critical Rule
  • Auto-Calibration: Do not touch the pads for 0.5 seconds after powering up. It calibrates baseline capacitance automatically; early touch causes false triggers.
