The Ublox NEO Series GPS Module (Red Breakout) provides high-precision location data in an easy-to-use, breadboard-friendly format. Built around the widely supported Ublox NEO architecture, this vibrant red breakout board is a reliable staple for makers, hobbyists, and students. It outputs standard NMEA sentences via a simple UART serial connection, making it instantly compatible with the Arduino Uno, Mega, and practically any other 3.3V or 5V development board.
Equipped with an active ceramic patch antenna, this module ensures a strong satellite lock. It also features an onboard EEPROM paired with a rechargeable backup battery. This clever addition saves satellite ephemeris data when the system is powered off, allowing the module to perform lightning-fast "hot starts" and acquire a signal in seconds the next time it boots up.
Perfect For:
-
Arduino Prototyping: One of the most widely documented GPS modules available, making it perfect for learning NMEA data parsing with standard Arduino libraries.
-
Robotics & Rovers: Provide autonomous RC vehicles, boats, and drones with accurate waypoint navigation and speed tracking.
-
Portable Trackers: Build battery-powered geocaching tools, digital speedometers, or high-precision synchronized clocks.
